The Mac platform does not attract developers iOS

Mac platform

This is not news too positive, because it involves some drawbacks for the Mac platform. As you can read in the title of this post, a recent study carried out by Gene Munster between the developers attending WWDC iOS has revealed that they are losing interest in the sister of iOS platform.

Compared to results in 2008, when half of them serving apps for the mobile platform also made it on Mac, the last Conference of last week showed that only 7 per cent of these continue to do so. The reason is very clear after their responses: the Apple mobile platform is much more simple with a view to the development of apps and facing the monetization, even when compared with the rest of the ecosystem of mobile devices.

It is interesting to know what their views on the App Store, which is their biggest complaint. 38 Per cent mentioned that his biggest problem with the store is due to stringent limitations imposed by the company of the Apple. And only 11 per cent draws out difficulties in the process of approval of its proposal.

As we said before, they are good news for iOS, but not so much for the Mac, despite the efforts of Apple to launch the Mac App store as a shock. Perhaps we have to wait yet a little shop extends in use and will thereby make a programmers. Although it is a strictly personal assessment, consider that we have not seen the positive of the Mac App Store consequences but we will do it soon as Lion comes to our computers. If not, perhaps it is not far the day that Apple allows to run both iOS and every Mac OS X, or the day in which iOS and OS X are one thing.
